This trip took place in the summer of 2025. We'll come back with new dates for this trip later :)
The first day is adaptation day. You can fly to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on any convenient flight, and our guide will book you a taxi from the airport to the guesthouse. We recommend staying until evening and not sleeping during the day to adjust to local time immediately, which will speed up the adaptation process.

To get to know each other better and while away the time, we'll take a stroll around the city during the day, learning about Kamchatka, its people and history, and, of course, admiring the volcanoes. In the evening, we'll play board games, go to a bar, and finally go to rest and recharge before embarking on new experiences.
Meeting, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Today we'll explore Kamchatka's most iconic landmark—the Pacific Ocean, the largest ocean in the world.

We'll embark on a 10-hour boat trip to Russkaya Bay. Don't worry about the length of the trip: the program is so packed that the time will fly by! We'll have breakfast right on the boat and enjoy the views. Our trip will begin in Avacha Bay, then head south along the coast where Steller sea lions and killer whales are most often spotted. Along the way, we'll make several stops for lunch and fishing, and also see such interesting sites as Grotovaya Bay, Starichkov Island, the Three Brothers Rocks, and the Devil's Finger Rock. Our final destination will be Cape Kekurny at the entrance to Russkaya Bay, home to a Steller sea lion rookery. There are about a hundred of them here.

A wonderful, relaxing first day in Kamchatka to prepare and recharge for further adventures is coming to an end—we'll return to the hotel in the evening to recharge before tomorrow's volcano climb!

We'll rise early and head out to explore Gorely, the first volcano in Kamchatka on our journey. We'll travel there in a vakhtovka (a specially designed, all-terrain vehicle) resembling a truck, but with seats like a bus. The journey to the summit will take about three hours, with a stop at the Vilyuchinsky Pass, where we'll take photos and videos at a beautiful observation deck and meet the local spirits, the Gamulas, who guard this area.

At Gorely, we'll enjoy a fairly accessible trek, suitable even for those who've never hiked before—the volcano is only 1,799 meters above sea level. The trek will take approximately 2.5-3 hours, depending on your fitness level. Don't worry—we'll be accompanied by several guides who will keep us on track and will always be with us, no matter how fast we ascend.

Along the way, we'll see ash fields and black rocks charred by hot gases, and at the summit, a stunning view of the volcano's crater and incredible green-blue lake opens up before our eyes.

At the summit of Gorely, we'll make a short break, grab a bite to eat, and take photos, then descend to our camper van and happily return to the city.
Vilyuchinsky Pass, trekking, Gorely volcano, hot springs.
Today, we're heading to Khalaktyrsky Beach to join the surfers, soak up the Pacific Ocean and try to catch a wave.

Upon arrival at the beach, we'll receive wetsuits and boards, go over safety precautions, and learn all the intricacies of surfing with experienced instructors. Even if you've never surfed before, that won't stop you from trying. Don't worry—the instructors will always be there to support you with theoretical advice and practical tips!

The surfing lesson, including a warm-up, will last two hours, and afterward, we'll be treated to a sauna with a hot tub right on the ocean shore.

New! This year, we'll be staying overnight on the beach with our friends at the Shiksha glamping site. In the evening, we'll gather around the campfire, cook dinner on the barbecue, and admire the starry Kamchatka sky. We'll spend the night on the shore of the Pacific Ocean and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
Khalaktyrsky beach, surfing, overnight stay in glamping on the beach.
After breakfast by the ocean, a new day and a new location await us. We'll set off on a short trek to Vachkazhets, a mountain range and an ancient extinct volcano.

We'll stroll around, take tons of memorable photos, and have a picnic in the fresh air.

In the evening, we'll return to our hotel in the city and share our impressions of the day and our entire trip.

After breakfast, we'll pack our bags and head to the airport. Check-out from the guesthouse is at 12:00 PM. Find a suitable return flight for you—you can leave your bags with the receptionist and explore the city to visit souvenir shops.

Our guide, just like on the first day, will call a taxi, and you'll be at the airport in time for your departure.

And with that, we bid you farewell. See you again on our travels with Trip for students!
