This is a hiking tour with climbing. You can go without any special preparation, but you will definitely need to bring sleeping bags, trekking poles, trekking boots, and climbing clothing (you will need both light and warm clothing, as well as warm winter gear).
We'll meet in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky! You can fly in on any convenient flight; our guide will arrange a taxi for each tourist from the airport to the hotel.

We recommend staying until evening and not sleeping during the day to adjust to local time immediately, which will speed up the adaptation process.

To get to know each other better and while away the time, we'll take a stroll around the city during the day, learning about Kamchatka, its people, and its history, and, of course, admiring the volcanoes. In the evening, we'll play board games, go to a bar, and finally, relax and recharge before the new adventures.

If you can't buy trekking poles in advance, please let your guide know in the trip chat two weeks before the tour. Our guide knows the best places in the city where you can rent them.

We rise early, have breakfast, and set out on an adventure—we'll spend the day at the foot of Avachinsky Volcano.

We'll travel there in a vakhtovka (also known as a "vakhtovka"), a high-traffic vehicle resembling a truck, but with seats like a bus. The journey to the base will take approximately two hours.
Our first radial hikes await us on Mount Verbludka, a small rock massif (extrusion) 1,200 meters high with two sharp peaks. It formed during the eruption of Avachinsky Volcano in a fault at its base. The climb is easy, taking about two hours, and the descent takes one hour. It's an excellent warm-up and preparation for the next day and the ascent of Avachinsky Volcano.

In the evening, we'll cook dinner together, share our first impressions, and head to bed to recharge.

On this tour, we'll be staying primarily in glamping sites and tourist centers, so bring a sleeping bag. The tourist centers are warm and provide beds and pillows, but no bed linen.

Today is a busy day—we'll climb Avacha Volcano.

Its altitude is 2,741 meters above sea level. We'll pack our backpacks for the climb: grab some snacks, a thermos of tea, water, and hiking poles—and set off in high spirits to see the most breathtaking views.

From the summit of Avacha, stunning views of the ocean, the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and the Vilyuchinsky, Gorely, and Mutnovsky volcanoes open up. In good weather, you can see the snow-white cone of Opala Volcano in southern Kamchatka, the massive cone of Koryakskaya Sopka in the west, the Nalycheva River valley, and the Zhupanovsky and Dzenzur volcanoes in the north.

The ascent will take approximately 6-7 hours, and the descent will take about 3. We'll be accompanied by two experienced guides, so everyone can walk at a comfortable pace. The trail to Avacha's summit runs through cinder fields, crosses a deep crevice, emerges onto a volcanic ridge, and then ascends a young cone to the summit. The steepness of the summit slope reaches 30°. Fumarole activity and solidified lava flows from the 1991 eruption can be observed in the crater.

After returning to the base, a hot shower and dinner await us. We will share our impressions of the ascent and then retire to rest.

Today we're heading to another volcano—the ascent of Gorely. After Avacha, it'll seem easier, but it'll be no less exciting.

Gorely Volcano is active, and its crater contains a turquoise lake. At 1,799 meters, the ascent takes 2.5–3 hours, depending on your fitness level, and the descent takes about 1.5 hours. Along the way, we'll see ash fields and charred rocks. At the summit, the crater opens up before us, revealing a stunning green-blue lake. Here, we'll have time for photos and a truly vibrant snack.

Today, we'll spend the night at a glamping site near the Vilyuchinsky Pass. Three seven-person tents and a hot sauna will be prepared for us, allowing us to unwind after a busy day.

Since Mutnovsky Volcano is closed due to increased seismic activity, we'll spend the day visiting the Mutnovsky Geothermal Power Plant.

We'll hike about 2 km to the Dachnye Thermal Springs. Here we'll see boiling fountains, mud volcanoes, and fumaroles. These springs are often called the "Little Valley of Geysers," and indeed, the landscape is reminiscent of the famous Valley.

On the way back to the city, you can visit the hot springs (for an additional fee) and take a dip in a natural pool with water at a comfortable temperature. It's a great way to recover from the trekking.

We'll return to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the evening, and if we have some energy left, we'll head downtown to stop by the bars and celebrate our successful ascent.

Today we'll explore Kamchatka's most iconic landmark—the Pacific Ocean, the largest ocean in the world.

We'll embark on a 10-hour boat trip to Russkaya Bay. Don't worry about the length of the trip: the program is so packed that the time will fly by!

We'll have breakfast right on the boat and, of course, sample some real Kamchatka crab with a glass of champagne.

Our trip will begin in Avacha Bay and then head south along the coast, where Steller sea lions and killer whales are most often spotted. Along the way, we'll make several stops for lunch and fishing, and also see such interesting sites as Grotovaya Bay, Starichkov Island, the Three Brothers Rocks, and the Devil's Finger Rock. We'll also visit the entrance to Russkaya Bay, home to a Steller sea lion rookery, which numbers about a hundred individuals. We'll also take a walk to a mountain lake located in the picturesque surroundings of the bay (the hike takes about 45 minutes, assuming there's no snow).

This wonderful, relaxing day in Kamchatka, where we prepare and recharge for further adventures, will come to an end. We'll return to the hotel in the evening to recharge for tomorrow!

Today we'll head to Khalaktyrsky Beach to join the surfers, feel the Pacific Ocean's breeze, and try to catch a wave.

Upon arrival at the beach, you'll receive a wetsuit and board, go through safety procedures, and learn all the intricacies of surfing with experienced instructors. Even if you've never surfed before, that won't stop you from trying. Don't worry—the instructors will always be there to support you with theoretical advice and practical tips!

The surfing lesson, including a warm-up, lasts two hours, and afterward, a sauna with a hot tub awaits you right on the ocean shore.

Afterward, we'll return to the guesthouse, gather together, have a farewell dinner, and reminisce about the best moments of the tour.

After breakfast, we'll pack our bags and head to the airport. Check out of the hotel at 12:00 PM. Find a suitable return flight for you—you can leave your bags with the receptionist and explore the city to visit souvenir shops.

Our guide, just like on the first day, will call a taxi, and you'll be at the airport in time for your departure.

And with that, we bid you farewell. See you again on your travels with Trip for students!
